6 Best Eyebrow Products for Natural-Looking Brows

Finding the best eyebrow products for natural-looking brows can feel a little overwhelming. One day, perfectly sculpted arches are everywhere, and the next, everyone wants soft and fluffy brows.

No matter which brow trend is popular, my goal stays the same: I want my brows to look filled in and styled without looking like I spent the entire morning working on them. I also want them to stay in place without feeling like I put glue on my face.

After trying countless brow pencils, gels, and powders over the years, these are the six eyebrow products I continue to recommend. Whether you want a precise brow pencil, a strong-hold gel, or a soft powder for filling in sparse areas, there is something here for you!

Best Eyebrow Pencil – Rare Beauty Brow Harmony Precision Eyebrow Pencil

The Rare Beauty Brow Harmony Precision Eyebrow Pencil has surpassed every other eyebrow pencil I’ve used. It has a fine, angled tip that makes it easy to create small, hair-like strokes for natural-looking brows.

What I love most is how quickly I can fill in my brows. I’ve used similar pencils, including the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, but I sometimes find that those pencils dry out quickly or require more pressure than I would like. With the Rare Beauty pencil, I can fill in sparse areas without feeling like I’m spending the entire morning in front of the mirror.

The formula is also waterproof and designed to resist sweat and oil, which is always a plus when you need your brows to last throughout the day. (A plus for those living in humid areas!)

There is also a built-in spoolie on the opposite end, so you can brush through your brows and soften any harsh lines. Overall, this continues to be my favorite eyebrow pencil for creating natural-looking brows.

Best for: Anyone who wants precise, hair-like strokes without spending too much time on their brows.

Best Drugstore Eyebrow Pencil – L’Oréal Paris Makeup Brow Stylist Definer

For a more budget-friendly option, my go-to is the L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Definer.

Similar to the Rare Beauty pencil, this mechanical brow pencil has an ultra-fine tip that makes it easy to create natural-looking, hair-like strokes. It also has a built-in spoolie on the other end, making it easy to brush and blend the product after filling in your brows.

Another reason I continue to recommend this pencil is the shade range. With 10 shades available, it is easier to find a color that works with your natural brow and hair color.

We previously featured the L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Definer in our guide to the best drugstore makeup products, and I still stand by it! It is one of the best affordable brow pencils I have tried.

Best for: Anyone who wants a precise, easy-to-use eyebrow pencil at a drugstore price.

Best Brow Gel – Anastasia Beverly Hills Strong Hold Clear Brow Gel

I have been using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel for years, and it continues to be one of my favorites!

I absolutely love the clear formula because there is no need to worry about finding the right shade, and it does not leave visible color behind. The formula also gives me enough time to shape my brows before it completely dries.

This is especially helpful when I want to brush my brow hairs into a specific shape without feeling rushed.

My biggest advice is to avoid using too much product. Applying too much can make your brows feel crunchy or stiff. A small amount is usually enough to hold them in place, which also means the product lasts a long time.

Best for: Anyone who wants a reliable clear brow gel that gives them time to shape their brows before it sets.

Best Drugstore Brow Gel – NYX The Brow Glue

Do not let the name scare you. NYX The Brow Glue may be called “glue,” but I do not find it sticky or overly crunchy when I use the right amount.

When compared with the Anastasia Beverly Hills gel, this formula dries faster, so you need to work a little more quickly when shaping your brows. However, it is a great affordable alternative if you want your brow hairs to stay in place for hours.

The small brush is not my personal favorite because I prefer a slightly larger applicator, but some people may actually like the extra precision it provides.

Overall, this is one of the best drugstore brow gels I have tried for keeping brow hairs in place while still creating a natural-looking finish.

Best for: Anyone looking for strong brow hold at an affordable price.

Best Brow Powder – Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo

If you have noticed that Anastasia Beverly Hills appears more than once on this list, there is a good reason! The brand is known for eyebrow products, and the Brow Powder Duo continues to be one of my favorites for creating soft, filled-in brows.

Each compact includes two complementary shades. I like using the lighter shade toward the inner part of my brow, closest to my nose, and the darker shade toward the arch and tail.

Using two shades helps create more dimension and prevents the brows from looking too flat or heavily filled in. You can also blend the shades together to customize your color.

The only downside is that the compact does not include an eyebrow brush. I recommend using a simple dual-sided angled brush and spoolie, which will last a long time and can be used with almost any brow powder.

Best for: Anyone who wants soft, buildable brows with a more natural, dimensional finish.

Best Drugstore Brow Powder – CoverGirl Easy Breezy Brow Powder Kit

I need to give CoverGirl their flowers as they did an amazing job with the Easy Breezy Brow Powder Kit.

Similar to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo, you get two brow shades for filling in and defining your brows. The kit also includes a highlight shade for the brow bone and a dual-ended brush.

I especially like this kit for traveling because it gives me almost everything I need in one place.

My biggest complaint is that the shades have some shimmer. I personally prefer a more matte finish for my brows, and if the brow powders were completely matte, I might rank this kit even higher.

The shade selection is also more limited than some of the other eyebrow products on this list, which may make it harder for everyone to find a perfect match.

Even with those downsides, it is still a great value and one of my favorite affordable brow powder kits.

Best for: Anyone who wants an affordable, travel-friendly brow kit with multiple products in one compact.

How to Choose the Best Eyebrow Product for You

The right eyebrow product depends on the look you want and how much time you like to spend on your brows.

Choose an eyebrow pencil if you want to fill in sparse areas or create precise, hair-like strokes. A brow gel is best for shaping your natural brow hairs and keeping them in place. A brow powder works well when you want a softer, more blended look.

You can also combine products. I often like using a pencil or powder to fill in my brows and then finishing with a clear brow gel to hold everything in place.

The most important thing is to use a light hand. Building the product slowly usually creates a much more natural result than applying too much at once.

Final Thoughts on the Best Eyebrow Products

There you have it: six of the best eyebrow products I have personally tried for creating natural-looking brows.

My overall favorite is the Rare Beauty Brow Harmony Precision Eyebrow Pencil because it makes filling in my brows quick and easy. For a more affordable option, the L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Definer is an excellent drugstore alternative.

For keeping brow hairs in place, I continue to reach for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel, while NYX The Brow Glue is my favorite affordable option. And when I want a softer look, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo and CoverGirl Easy Breezy Brow Powder Kit are both great choices.

The right technique and product can make a big difference, but your brows should still look like your brows. Start with a small amount of product, build it slowly, and focus on enhancing what you naturally have.
