Clinique Take The Day Off
Clinique’s Take The Day Off makeup remover is my go-to for removing waterproof and long-wearing eye makeup and lipstick. I have been using this for over 15 years. The Clinique brand was created by a dermatologist with skincare in mind making it a great choice for your makeup remover. This remover doesn’t irritate my eyes in any way and the gentler formula won’t tug at your skin which can contribute to wrinkles. It’s also formulated without parabens or sulfates making it perfect for sensitive skin.
This remover is number one when it comes to taking off any makeup that is highly pigmented. A little of this product goes a long way as well so I’ve found that even with using it daily, I don’t have to repurchase often.

The Original Makeup Eraser
The Original Makeup Eraser is a reusable cloth that has skyrocketed in popularity in the past few years. It’s a double-sided cloth that’s reusable and can last for 3 to 5 years. It works great for sensitive skin because it just uses water, there are no chemicals involved! It can be a real money saver while also being great for the environment. The cloth is made up of tons of tiny fibers that lift off all makeup, dirt, and oil from your pores. The cloth is machine washable and can be thrown in with any regular load of laundry. I highly recommend picking up a 7-day set in order to cut down on how often you need to wash them.
I first tried this when I received it in my Boxycharm subscription and was extremely surprised at how much I liked it. If you’re interested in learning more about makeup subscription boxes like Boxycharm, check out our “Ipsy Glam Bag vs Boxycharm” post!
JUNO & Co. Clean 10 Cleansing Balm
If you’re looking specifically for a balm, this is overall the best balm out there and is fairly affordable. Most cleansing blame is either really thick/heavy or really oily, making them perfect for removing makeup but then you’re left with removing the balm. JUNO & Co. is not like that at all. It’s lightweight but still does a great job removing stubborn makeup. It leaves your skin feeling hydrated after use instead of greasy. The only downside for me with this one is the size at only 3 ounces. I’m hoping with its popularity rising the brand will one day come out with a larger size.
Bioderma Micellar Water Makeup Remover
Micellar water is a gentle way to remove makeup while also toning your skin. It doesn’t sting like most traditional toners but still has the capability to remove dirt and oil from your skin. It’s great for all skin types including sensitive skin. It’s not only great for removing makeup from your face, but it’s also a great product to remove any residue from your makeup brushes! Simply soak the brushes in micellar water for a few minutes and then rinse dry. Micellar water does not take away your natural moisture and is free of chemicals and fragrances.
Sephora Collection Cleansing + Exfoliating Wipes
If you’re looking for something quick and easy to remove makeup, this is it. Nothing is easier than a makeup wipe, however, it’s important to know the downside to using wipes versus a cleanser or balm. Wipes have a tendency to just sort of move makeup around on your face rather than fully removing it from the skin. Most makeup wipes also have harsh chemicals that can irritate your skin.
I do like to use makeup wipes occasionally when traveling because of how convenient they are and these Sephora wipes are listed as clean meaning the harsh chemicals mentioned previously are not used to preserve these wipes. Makeup wipes also have a tendency to cause dryness on the skin, with these Sephora Collection wipes, they actually have hyaluronic acid which helps the skin retain moisture.

Neutrogena Cleansing Fragrance-Free Makeup Remover Wipes
Neutrogena’s wipes are great because they’re so convenient to find. You can be grocery shopping and realize you’re out of makeup remover and pick this up in a pinch. These wipes do not dry out the skin since they do not use harsh alcohol. They are cruelty-free, affordable, and can get rid of waterproof makeup without tugging at your skin.
Neutrogena Oil-Free Liquid Eye Makeup Remover
This makeup remover by Neutrogena is extremely similar to the one we talked about earlier by Clinique. It’s easily accessible at your local drugstore and can usually be purchased for around $8 making it a great choice when you’re on a budget. If you have sensitive skin, I recommend sticking with the Clinique as this one can be a little more harsh on your skin.
If redness and breakouts are not a concern, this makeup remover will do the trick and take off every inch of waterproof eye makeup. It’s 100% oil-free and does not feel greasy at all on your skin.
Remember, makeup remover is not just a mere step in our skincare routine; it’s a ritual of self-care and respect for our skin’s well-being. By investing in quality makeup removers tailored to your skin’s demands, you can say goodbye to your makeup at the end of your day and hello to clean, radiant skin that’s ready for tomorrow.
