This pencil is quite similar to the Anastasia Beverly Hills pencil; however, I’ve found that the Anastasia pencil either dries out very quickly or requires a lot of pressure when applied to achieve perfect brows. With this pencil, I can fill in my brows quickly and not feel like I’m spending the entire morning in front of the mirror.

The Rare Beauty Brow Harmony Precision Eyebrow Pencil also includes a built-in spoolie on the other end for brushing out hairs. In summary, I absolutely love this pencil and you will too! A huge shoutout to Rare Beauty for designing such a fantastic product. In a short period, it has definitely become one of the best eyebrow makeup options currently available!

Best Drugstore Eyebrow Pencil – L’Oréal Paris Makeup Brow Stylist Definer 

If you’re looking for an eyebrow pencil that’s a little more budget-friendly, my go-to is L’Oréal Paris Makeup Brow Stylist Definer! Similar to the Rare Beauty pencil mentioned above, this mechanical brow pencil has a fine-tip, allowing you to create natural-looking brow hairs. It also features a built-in spoolie on the other end.

The shade range for this brow pencil is truly impressive and it’s available in 10 different shades. We previously featured the L’Oréal Paris Makeup Brow Stylist Definer on our “15 Best Drugstore Makeup Products In 2023” and I continue to stand by it!

Best Brow Gel – Anastasia Beverly Hills Strong Hold Clear Brow Gel 

I have been using Anastasia Beverly Hills Strong Hold Clear Brow Gel for many years now, and it continues to be my one of favorites! Your brows will not budge when you use this product. I love the clear formula because it eliminates all the guesswork regarding which shade you need and doesn’t leave behind any flakes. The formula is my favorite because it doesn’t dry down too quickly; I can work with it to shape my brows exactly how I want them before it dries completely.

Pro tip – If you use too much product, it can make your brows feel a bit crunchy and restrict movement. However, as long as you don’t apply too much, I don’t notice that feeling. A little of this product goes a long way, which means you won’t need to repurchase it often.

Best Drugstore Brow Gel – NYX The Brow Glue

Don’t let the name fool you; it might be called “glue,” but NYX The Brow Glue does not leave your eyebrows feeling sticky or crunchy like some products do! This product does dry much faster than the Anastasia Brow Gel, so you need to work more quickly to shape your brows. However, if you’re on a budget, this is a great alternative.

This product will stay in place for hours while still giving you natural-looking brows. The brush applicator is smaller than I would prefer, but some find that it helps with precision.

Best Brow Powder – Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo 

If you’ve noticed that we mention Anastasia Beverly Hills a lot, there’s a good reason for it! The brand is renowned for all things related to eyebrows and truly excels in perfecting our brows. So, why do you need two different shades of brow powder? The lighter powder is intended for the inner part of your brow, closest to your nose, while the darker shade is for the tail end, closest to your ears. Using these two shades on your brows is the best way to achieve a natural but perfectly filled-in look!

Currently, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo is available in 11 different color combinations. It doesn’t come with a brush like some others, so that is the only downside. CoverGirl did an amazing job with this powder kit. Similar to the Anastasia product mentioned above, you get two shades to fill in your brows. On top of that, you also get a highlight shade to use on your brow bone, the area just beneath your eyebrow! It also includes a dual-ended brush.

With all that is included, the traditional price of $12 is a steal! I love traveling with this kit because it has everything I need in one place. The only downside is that all three shades in the pan are slightly shimmery, not just the highlighter. If the shades were more matte, I would honestly rank this above the Anastasia Brow Powder Duo. Additionally, the product is currently available in only four variations, making it more challenging to match your natural hair color.

I’ve never found a highlighter I love as much as this one. I use this powder highlighter almost every day to complete my look. It’s easy to create a subtle glow or achieve that trendy beaming look by using a heavier hand. It’s currently available in four beautiful shades, and once you try one, you’re probably going to want to collect them all like Pokemon!

Best Drugstore Powder Highlighter – Milani Cosmetics Baked Luminous Glow Highlighter 

This is by far my favorite makeup highlighter at the drugstore. Its fragrance-free baked formula is great for sensitive skin. However, this highlighter does have quite a bit of shimmer in it, so if that’s not your preference, you may want to steer clear of this one. Personally, I don’t mind it at all and find that it looks really beautiful on the cheekbones and browbones. It’s extremely pigmented, so a little bit on your brush will go a long way. Furthermore, this highlighter is roughly half the price of the Rare Beauty highlighter mentioned above. If you’re looking for something more budget-friendly, this is the one for you!

Best Highlighter Stick – Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Highlighter 

This is my favorite stick highlighter; I’m completely obsessed with the shade Pink Diamonds. It complements those with fair skin so well. The product is available in five other shades, all equally beautiful. This cream highlighter has a built-in brush on the other end of the stick, making it great for travel purposes. It came with me on my trips to the Dominican Republic and Mexico! This product definitely provides a healthy-looking glow to the skin and is not overly shimmery. It’s super easy to blend as well.

Best Liquid Highlighter – Iconic London Illuminator Liquid Highlight 

I first discovered this product through my monthly Boxycharm. This liquid highlighter is so versatile, and that’s what I love most about it. The dropper applicator is perfect for mixing it into your foundation to give an all-over glow or just dabbing it on the high points of your face and cheekbones. I haven’t found anything else in liquid form that’s quite as intense as this one. It’s currently available in three shades.

Best Drugstore Liquid Highlighter – L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Glotion

As far as drugstore highlights go, this is the closest I have found to the Iconic London Illuminator, but it is much more subtle. My favorite way to use this is by mixing it with the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer & Blur Oil-Free Primer for an all-over glow! It’s available in four different shades, which may seem like a small range, but it really does complement all skin tones when mixed with a primer or foundation. Due to its ingredients, such as shea butter and glycerin, it can help keep the skin hydrated. Overall, it enhances the skin’s natural glow and isn’t overpowering.

Best Highlighter Palette – Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit 

If you’re a makeup artist or just someone looking to purchase multiple shades of highlighter at once, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit is one of my favorite palettes. The product is currently available in two options: Sugar or Sun Dipped. Each kit includes four powder shades. A little bit goes a long way with this one, making the palette seem to last forever, even when used daily. I love using this palette to complete my eye makeup; it’s gorgeous in the inner corner and on the brow bone!

Best Drugstore Highlighter Palette – Wet N Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Palette

Wet n Wild’s MegaGlo highlighter is easily one of my favorites at the drugstore, and being able to buy four shades at once is even better. Many drugstore highlighters can look a little too chalky on the skin. Wet n Wild’s MegaGlo is not like that and is one of the most affordable highlighters out there. The downside of this palette is that there is only one version of it, whereas Anastasia Beverly Hills currently has two versions. As a result, this specific Wet n Wild palette will probably not work for those with darker skin tones.

Personally, I found that the one infused with an extra burst of hydration was best suited for my skin type and these record-breaking summer days! The Spackle Skin Perfecting Primer: Hydrate is touted as ideal for mature skin, dry skin, and refining skin texture. While this primer claims to function as a two-in-one moisturizer and primer, I found it very beneficial in applying a separate moisturizer underneath for optimal results.

I was truly impressed by how effectively this primer created a superb base for my foundation, all while delivering hydration through moisturizing ingredients like jojoba seed oil. I really love how it harmonizes my skin tone and gives that illuminating complexion!

The Best of the Best Baked Face Palette

This product marked the beginning of my journey with Laura Geller Beauty! It truly is an excellent introduction to the brand, offering their renowned blush, bronzer, highlighter, and eyeshadow all in a single palette. I didn’t think it was possible for me to do a cat eye with a liquid liner until I discovered this gem. Rare Beauty somehow created an eyeliner that not only has a great formula but also features a flexible yet sturdy brush tip made up of over 1000 bristles, allowing you to achieve the perfect liquid line. The waterproof liner can be used to create thick or thin lines depending on the amount of pressure applied, and I love that it’s matte.

If you’ve ever been afraid of liquid liners, please try this product. I promise you will not regret it!

Soft Pinch Liquid Blush

Liquid blush has become more popular within the last couple of years, and I believe that is due to Rare Beauty. One of the first products to really take off by Rare Beauty was the Soft Pinch Liquid Blush. Liquid blush can typically be more pigmented than powder, and if you apply too much, you immediately end up looking like a clown. However, Rare Beauty has made this almost impossible to do. The blush can still be super pigmented if you like, but it’s also easy to get a natural look with a light flush to your cheeks.

Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush lasts all day on the skin and is extremely easy to blend. This blush is currently available in 9 radiant shades and 4 matte shades. All of these options are really beautiful, and you can’t go wrong with any of them. My personal favorite is “Joy,” which is described as a dewy peach. Given how popular this product is, I definitely hope to see more shades in the future!

Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter 

It’s no surprise that Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter makes another appearance on our list! We previously talked about this one in the “Best 17 Makeup Products in 2023” post, and since purchasing this highlighter during Sephora’s latest Very Important Beauty Insider (VIB) sale, I haven’t been able to put it down! I know others are feeling the same way because every time I look on Sephora’s website, one or two shades are ALWAYS sold out. All four shades are absolutely gorgeous, and you can’t go wrong with whichever one you’re able to get your hands on.

A lot of popular highlighters out there are a little too blinding or glittery for my taste. However, the Rare Beauty Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter provides a natural glow. Every bride out there seriously needs this highlighter in their life!

Brow Harmony Precision Eyebrow Pencil

Since its recent release, the Brow Harmony Precision Eyebrow Pencil has quickly become my go-to brow pencil! It’s so easy to fill in my brows with this because of how precise the angled tip allows me to be. The formula is super buildable, and it’s impossible to be too heavy-handed with it.

The product is currently available in six different shades, and each shade has a spoolie on the opposite end. The fine tip we mentioned earlier makes it super easy to draw fine hairs, allowing for a natural look. Oh, and did I mention that it’s waterproof?

Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipstick

This is the most perfect liquid lipstick out there. Thanks to its weightless air-whipped formula, it’s not at all drying and feels like you’re not wearing anything. Don’t you hate it when your liquid lip feels hard or dry? Well, this lipstick is the total opposite and super comfortable to wear!

Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipstick is currently available in 12 matte shades. This product is super unique as it gives the lips a soft blurring effect but can be built up for a bolder look. I love how hydrating this product can be! These liquid lips are really worth the hype!

Positive Light Liquid Luminizer Highlight

Hands down, this is the best liquid highlighter on the market. It’s formulated with light-catching pearls and is extremely long-lasting. I love how easy it is to blend without streaking. So many highlighters can be over the top, but this one offers a nice, subtle sheen. It’s not glittery, so it gives you a natural glow.

The product is super buildable if you’re looking for a more intense look. Unlike other liquid products out there, it doesn’t dry down too fast, which makes it easy to blend. Currently available in 8 different shades, if you have never used a liquid highlighter before, this is the best one to start with because of how user-friendly it is!

Always an Optimist Illuminating Primer

Always an Optimist Illuminating Primer by Rare Beauty is a silicone-free gel primer enriched with ultra-fine pearls. It can work well with all skin types, but I find it’s best for those with dry skin due to its hydrating properties. However, its radiant finish may not be the best fit for those with oily skin. This primer is known to smooth, hydrate, and illuminate the skin, giving you a healthy-looking glow. I have yet to find a foundation or concealer that does not work well with this product. If you are on the fence about trying it, the great thing is they currently offer it in a mini size!

L’Oreal is my go-to when it comes to drugstore foundations, specifically the True Match line. I wanted to include both of these foundations because depending on my needs, I will switch between the two. For example, If I’m going for a matte look – I’ll stick with the L’Oreal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Foundation. But if I am looking for more of a glow to my skin, I’ll pick up the L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi. Both of these options provide an awesome natural look!

Pro tip – When purchasing great foundations, always look for the ones that come with a pump. This is an important detail because, without it, many will find themselves wasting more than they need. This will result in needing to repurchase new ones. Thankfully, these two foundations come with a pump which is a HUGE win!

L’Oreal Paris True Match Super- Blendable Foundation is available in 47 different shades making it fairly easy to find one that matches your undertone. It’s free of alcohol, oil, and fragrance making it work well with all skin types.  

The L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi contains vitamins C & E to improve clarity and skin tone. It’s made up of 40% water leaving your skin hydrated and contains SPF. This foundation can improve your complexion the more you wear it. 

Best Concealer – Maybelline New York Instant Age Rewind Concealer 

Maybelline’s New York Instant Age Rewind Concealer is America’s #1 concealer for a good reason! It simply does an excellent job on young and mature skin. In addition, if you’re prone to dark circles under your eyes when you wake up, I highly recommend trying this concealer. 

Not only can the concealer reduce the appearance of dark circles, but it can also correct the appearance of redness and brighten your under-eye area. It’s medium coverage and can last for up to 12 hours!

Best Primer – e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer

If you ever watch anything makeup or beauty-related on TikTok, you’ve probably seen this product featured! The e.l.f. Poreless Putty is ideal for all skin types and quite honestly the best primer at the drugstore. It’s long-lasting and guaranteed to last you all day! What makes this primer stand out is that provides a smooth canvas for your foundation, minimizes pores, and hydrates the skin.

Best Finishing Powder – Maybelline New York Fit Me Loose Setting Powder

Maybelline New York Fit Me Loose Setting Powder has been compared time and time again to Laura Mercier’s setting powder. Its quality is just that good. This sheer powder is the perfect way to set your makeup and provides a natural look. 

What I love about this setting powder is that it can control shine and smooth skin texture. It can either be applied light on the face or used with a makeup sponge for baking. I do find that it lasts quite a long time, however, if you tend to have oily skin, you may need to reapply to your T-zone throughout the day. 

Best Bronzer – Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer

This Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer was featured in our “Top 5 Amazon Beauty Products” to watch out for on Prime Day 2023. This is the one drugstore makeup bronzer that I feel really stands up to some of the more popular high-end.

The bronzer is a powder formula and does have some shimmer to it. It blends out extremely well on the skin and is available in a good amount of shades. I think everyone should be able to find one that fits their needs. Physician’s Formula products are great for those with sensitive skin so this bronzer is a really good choice for all skin types. 

Best Blush – Milani Baked Blush

I absolutely love baked powder blushes because of the natural look they give on the cheeks. For quite some time, I wasn’t able to find a suitable drugstore makeup brand that provided the quality and look. Then came Milani’s Baked Blushes. This blush does an excellent job giving off that natural look I’m very much used to and they’re super pigmented!

There are 12 different shades available and they vary between matte and shimmer. Milani does a great job providing something for every look and skin tone. The Luminoso shade is my absolute favorite and a keeper throughout those summer months!

Best Highlighter – Wet n Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Power

I love Wet N Wild products because they can be so inexpensive and they come out with some of the coolest collaborations. For those who know me, I absolutely love anything Disney. And sometime last year, Wet N Wild did a Lilo & Stitch collaboration that included a bronzing/highlighting palette. I immediately knew I needed to add it to my collection! Thankfully my husband surprised me with one as a birthday gift!

But in all seriousness, this is by far the best highlighter powder at the drugstore. Hands down. It doesn’t come off as super chalky, it’s blendable, buildable, and melts into the skin. It can give that light-catching effect to your cheekbones. The Golden Flower Crown shade is an absolute favorite! My next shade to try will be the Precious Petals!

Best Mascara – Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

We simply can’t get enough of the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara! We previously featured this mascara in our “Top 5 Drugstore Mascaras in 2023“! There isn’t much to say that hasn’t been said, it’s just that good. This mascara continues to stand the test of time. Many will recognize its iconic pink and green tube which has been around since 1971!

This mascara provides both length and volume. It also leaves lashes looking fuller and more dramatic. It’s available in a waterproof formula that can withstand any weather and is known to condition lashes as it thickens.

Best Eyeliner – L’Oreal Paris Makeup Infallible Never Fail Eyeliner

The L’Oreal Paris Makeup Infallible Never Fail Eyeliner is the closest drugstore makeup product comparable to Urban Decay’s 24/7 glide-on eyeliner. However, with Urban Decay being under the L’Oreal Paris umbrella, it doesn’t surprise me that they make both my favorite eyeliners! There’s a sharpener built in and a smudging tool on the opposite end, so you don’t need to worry about buying anything extra to utilize this pencil.

I absolutely love how it’s long-lasting and smudge-proof. It’s a huge peace of mind knowing that I can wear this on my waterline without the fear of it smudging and leaving me looking like a raccoon during the day.

Best Brow Pencil –  L’Oreal Paris Brow Stylist Definer Waterproof Eyebrow Pencil 

This mechanical brow pencil is one of the best drugstore makeup dupes out there! The L’Oreal Paris Brow Stylist Definer Waterproof Eyebrow Pencil is often compared to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. The L’Oreal pencil is mechanical meaning you don’t need a sharpener and it also has a spoolie brush on the opposite end just like the popular Anastasia product.

Its ultra-fine 0.5mm tip makes it great to fill in your brows while still creating a natural look. The waterproof formula is available in 8 different shades and it’s designed to mimic your brow hairs without having to use a light hand.

This a great recommendation if you’re prone to acne as it will not clog pores.

The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hyaluronic Acid Water Gel is oil-free and there’s an alternative option for those looking for a fragrance-free option as well!

First up is the Rare Beauty Brow Harmony Precision Eyebrow Pencil. This new brow pencil is available for $19 and comes in six different shades – Soft Blonde, Rich Taupe, Warm Brown, Cool Brown, Deep Brown, and Soft Black. The product is waterproof and has an angled tip to allow you to be more precise. Having an angled tip also helps to create more natural-looking brows. 

One of my favorite things about this product is it comes with a built-in spoolie on the opposite end of the pencil. I also love the angled tip because it really does help to create hair-like strokes creating a natural finish. I’m very easily able to control how much product I use without overdoing things.

Rare Beauty By Selena Gomez Perfect Strokes Longwear & Waterproof Gel Eyeliner

The brand-new Rare Beauty Perfect Strokes Longwear & Waterproof Gel Eyeliner is currently available at Sephora for $19. It’s available in three shades – True Black, True Brown, and Compassion. The shade compassion is like a dark burgundy color and all three shades are in a matte finish. 

My favorite thing about this liner is that it comes with a built-in sharpener! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone on vacation without a pencil sharpener. The pencil also glides on very easily and really does seem to stay put on your waterline throughout the day. The liners are very pigmented so I don’t find that you have to keep going over the liner to get it to the pigmentation you want. Hopefully, in the future, we’ll get a few more shades but this is a great start.

Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez All of the Above Weightless Eyeshadow Stick

The final product we’re going to talk about today is the new Rare Beauty eyeshadow sticks. Currently available for $22 each in six different shades. The six shades are described as soft pink, champagne, rose taupe, copper, burgundy, and bronze. All shades have a shimmer finish and a cream formula. 

I’ve never been super big on shadow sticks, I just find powder to be an easier product to work with and shadow sticks tend to crease on my eyes. I did not have any issues with creasing with these shadow sticks and the color payoff was really great. Blending them out with your fingers really gives a natural glow to the eyelids. And similar to the eyeliners, Rare Beauty thought of everything and gave us a built-in sharpener with shadow sticks as well!

As part of the 2023 Fall Rare Beauty Collection, the brand plans to release one more product sometime in August – the Rare Beauty Brow Harmony Flexible Lifting Gel. The new clear brow gel is said to lift and lock brows into place all day. I’m looking forward to trying this because of the small spoolie that looks like it will be the perfect size! I hate having a giant brush to apply to such a small area of my face.  

Overall, I’m really impressed with the 2023 Fall Rare Beauty Collection and will definitely start using some of these products in my daily rotation. If I had to choose just one of these, I think I would recommend picking up a shadow stick in your favorite shade as it’s the most unique product in the collection so far. And if you’re like me and your man thinks you’re buying too much makeup, just remind him this one’s for charity!

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer is by far the best bronzer I’ve found at the drugstore. It’s no wonder that it’s ranked as one of the best Amazon beauty products! It just looks so natural on the skin and blends like a dream. It’s super affordable and it doesn’t hurt that it smells like a pina colada. It does have a shimmery finish so keep that in mind if you’re looking for something to contour with. If you’re not familiar with Physicians Formula, their makeup is specifically formulated with sensitive skin in mind. 

Bioderma Micellar Water Makeup Remover

We previously featured Bioderma’s Micellar Water Makeup Remover in our “Best 7 Makeup Removers of 2023“. This should definitely be one of the items at the top of your Prime Day wishlist. One of my favorite things about this product is how simple it makes keeping my makeup brushes clean. It’s also great for all skin types and can act as a toner while you remove your makeup. 

Olaplex No. 3 Hair Repair Perfector

I feel like we all do something to our hair that causes damage. Whether it’s blow drying, straightening, or having it dyed. Olaplex No. 3 Hair Repair Perfector is one of the best products out there to come in and save the day. It’s all the rage on TikTok and can be found featured proudly on the shelf at most salons. Olaplex is great for every hair type regardless of ethnicity, age, or gender. You apply this treatment to damp hair before shampooing or conditioning and leave it in for at least ten minutes. Using it about twice a week will leave you with softer healthier hair.

I love a good kabuki brush and the highlight of this brush is that it’s retractable making it everyone’s best friend when it comes to traveling. You can use it with powder as well but for me, it does its best work when buffing out your cream contour.

This small tapered brush is my favorite for highlighting just above my cheekbones and the tip of my nose. It’s small and tapered giving you the control to make your highlighter look like a natural glow instead of looking like you added chunks of glitter to your cheek. If I had to choose one brush for my face that I couldn’t live without, it would be this one.

Eye makeup is my favorite part of my daily routine, it’s when I feel I can be the most creative with my makeup.
